Jackon Hogg are delighted to be supporting an award-winning engineering consultancy in the Stockton area, who are looking to appoint a Multi-Disciplined Inspector/Inspection Engineer in the following fields: Boilers, Pressure Systems, Piping Systems, Storage Tanks.


Due to successful growth over the past 18 months, this is an exciting time to join the organisation as they seek to expand on their global reach and diversify in their capabilities and the sectors they support.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conducting onsite inspections of pipework, storage tanks, boilers and associated pressure systems (shell boilers and larger steam generating units on power plant).
  • Creation and amendment of Written Schemes of Examination (WSEs)
  • Review of other Clientsupplied information such as drawings, certificates etc to inform inspection and integrity management strategies that aid Client compliance with PSSR and COMAH
  • Forming a key interface with the Client to offer assessment and recommendations on the condition of the inspected equipment and the remedial work, repairs, maintenance or modifications which may be required
  • Writing, signing and issuing of: Inspection Reports, Supplementary Inspection Reports, Imminent Failure/Danger Notification Forms

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Educated to minimum HNC/HND level in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience of inspection, in particular Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) requirements
  • Experience of shell boiler inspection and preparation requirements
  • Experience of inspecting process equipment on highhazard COMAH sites, Piping Systems and storage tanks
  • Experience of specifying inspection intervals in accordance with approved codes and current Written Schemes of Examination.
  • Experience of other boiler designs particularly EfW plant inspection and operation
  • Possession of formal ASME / API certification in the field of plant inspection.
There is a wide salary banding available depending on experience and expertise. The business require the successful Inspector to be in possession of Current Certification for Inspection / NDT.

Expertise in one of more of the below certifications will have a sliding reflection on pay scale:


  • API 570 Piping Inspection
  • API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection
  • EEMUA 159/API 653 Tank Inspection
  • PCN Level 1 for UT
  • PCN Level 2 for MPI, LPI.

Current Certification in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • PCN Level 2 for UT
  • PCN Level 2 for ECI
  • CSWIP Welding.
The role will be client-facing and based out of the Stockton head office.

The role will involve a large percentage of the working week allocated to inspection work at our clients' sites - many of these based in the North East and working away or staying away from home is not an essential requirement.

A UK driving license is an essential requirement.

You will need to be comfortable with working in the following environments:
Confined space, at height, High / low temperatures, Noisy, Dusty.

DOE - Staff position only
