Our Emergency Medicine Department are seeking Band 2 Ward Clerk / Receptionists to work via our Admin Bank.

The post holder will be responsible for daily up keep of the Patient Administration System.

The post holder will provide administration services to the medical and nursing staff on the ward as well as providing reception cover.

The post holder will be expected to work on his or her own initiative in accordance with management requirements and will be responsible for the standard of their own work.

The nature of the work requires someone who is aware of patient confidentially, trustworthy and with the ability to deal professionally and effectively with all staff and the public.


To provide a high quality, confidential and comprehensive reception service for patients and visitors attending the Emergency Department and medical records service for patients attending as inpatients or outpatients.

Registering patients upon arrival in a timely manner, being the first point of contact for our patients.

You will need to be competent with Microsoft Office, ideally have experience working with Careflow and iPortal. You must be enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible.

You will be a self-starter, organised, reliable and an excellent communicator who is able to work with a variety of staff.

Previous experience in a hospital would be an advantage though not essential.
