Background
Colne Town Council has responsibility for delivery of Town Centre CCTV, Children's Playgrounds, Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs), Bus Shelters, Benches, Primet Community Centre, Colne Town Hall and Annex, 5 retail units and, more recently, the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival.
All of this is on top of the management of an active and geographically-dispersed Allotment portfolio and an already very active events programme, including the Colne Cycle Grand Prix, Seasonal Festivals, Markets and Hallowe'en events and occasional local markets.
The Post
Colne Town Council is looking for a
Contracts Officer (CO) to support the Town Clerk/RFO in the management of the ground's maintenance contracts of Colne Town Council.
The CO will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a number of Colne Town Council assets including Alkincoates Park, Benches, Bus Shelters, Play areas, MUGAs and their associated grounds maintenance contracts.
As the first point of contact for these assets, the post holder will need to be well-organised, flexible, reactive, committed and personable.
The role will require strong customer focus, attention to detail and a firm emphasis on achievement in order to help the Clerk and the Councillors deliver the best outcomes for the Council and the people of Colne.
