As part of the CO HR Operations Team and wider HR function, you will be responsible for working with a wide variety of stakeholders including HR Business Partners, HR Director's private office, Finance and other stakeholders from HR and the wider CO Community.

You will also be exposed to Ministerial and Perm Secretary Private Offices as well as interactions with other senior leaders and members of the Executive Committee.


Job description:


Working to the Head of Workforce Resourcing Capability the main focus of this position is to lead the operational running of the Resourcing Hub, helping to place individuals who need new roles as a result of organisational changes.

In addition, the team owns and runs the Recruitment Approvals framework and process that ensures the Cabinet Office is on track to meet strategic aims on size and location for the future.

There will also be an opportunity to feed into wider team goals and transformation work.


This will include:

  • Proactively building and managing relationships, working with and engaging all stakeholders, from the business through to wider colleagues in People and Places and other expert teams crossgovernment to deliver the aims of the team
  • Continually look for new ways to improve the HR datasets and wider ways of working
  • Leading on compiling monthly performance reports/dashboards
  • Providing a high level of customer service to the business; actively improving services within the department and offering bespoke support when required
  • Acting as a point of escalation for difficult or challenging enquiries, knowing when to further escalate through the relevant avenues
  • Delivery of key projects required as part of wider organisational strategies
  • Developing from end to end any documents or tools (such as plans, papers, policy, guidance, communication, and presentations) needed to support them
  • Supporting the end to end Recruitment Approvals process for the Cabinet Office including updating internal guidance and ensuring stakeholders are informed of, and adhering to these
  • Leading the endtoend process for employees within the CO Resourcing Hub, including updating internal policies, processes and guidance
So what does a day in the role look like?

  • Joining a daily huddle to check in on wellbeing, discuss any issues and spend some time working together to resolve these and share any key updates
  • Updating guidance on the intranet (the team is based across various locations so this is a great way to keep in touch)
  • Keeping in touch with your own caseload of individuals who are seeking new roles
  • Contacting a vacancy manager to discuss the suitability of an individual registered with the CO Resourcing Hub for their role
  • Attending a meeting with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) to discuss a project you are leading on and explore their views that may need consideration or incorporation
  • Attending a meeting with relevant stakeholders to discuss roles that need filling across CO and ensuring conversations are captured and shared with HRBPs
  • Having a conversation with colleagues in our complex casework team to unpick a complicated query and ensure we have the right guidance to proceed

Person specification:


Essential Skills Required:


  • Competent, and confident in the use of IT. Especially advanced knowledge of google sheets including formulas, pivot tables and other data manipulation/presentation
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and written, and able to understand, translate and relay information clearly
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload at pace
  • Able to take a pragmatic approach and make sound judgements t
