Test Engineer (Electronics)
How would you like to support a highly skilled engineering team in the Defence industry, working to IPC standards production testing, and fault finding for electronic modules, units, systems and spares ?

Working with UK Armed Forces at home and overseas, NATO Forces and Foreign Militaries, this company has a solid reputation in the industry worldwide and currently is growing so rapidly, we are looking for 20 new hires just this month

  • Flexible working 37.5 Hour working week based around core hours of Monday to Friday 9.30am to 12noon and 2pm to 4pm
  • Any additional hours worked above this can be taken as single time overtime or upto 15 hours (2 days) per month Time in Lieu (24 days per year) anything above this becomes paid overtime at single rate.

What's essential

  • Previous experience working on MoD projects.
  • IPC level inspection certification.
  • BTEC Electronics qualification (ONC/HNC/HND) or equivalent.
  • Experienced in problem solving, fault finding and repair down to component level for both analogue, digital and embedded designs.
  • Ability to interpret design schematics and parts lists.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritising workload with a handson approach.
  • Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance & Full UK driving license

Responsibilities:


  • Performing IPC level inspections of electronic assemblies prior to test.
  • Production testing for newly manufactured modules, units, systems and spares to include;
  • Electrical Safety testing.
  • Hardware, software and firmware configuration.
  • Preparing the test environment.
  • Taking measurement using common range test equipment.
  • Annotating test results.
  • Analysis of test failures to determine remedial action.
- o Providing feedback for test documentation discrepancies.

  • Assisting and liaising with project teams on test requirements of products and systems.
  • Design and construction of bespoke jigs and harnesses.
  • May be required to work with external test houses to support third party compliance testing.
  • Complying with all legislative and company health and safety requirements and safe practices and procedures.
