Introduction:


Enara Bio's purpose is to shine a light on unconventional T cell targets to develop cancer immunotherapies designed to provide lasting benefit for broad patient populations.

Our proprietary EDAPT platform enables us to discover a novel and differentiated class of cancer-specific targets from the genomic dark matter, which we call Dark Antigens.

We are pioneering approaches to exploit these Dark Antigen targets with a range of immunotherapeutic modalities, including bispecific T-cell engagers, adoptive cell therapies and cancer vaccines.

Enara Bio was founded in 2016 and has been well funded to invest in the build out and growth of our R&D efforts and our fantastic team.

Job Summary:


Enara Bio is seeking a Head of Finance to be responsible for strategic planning, financial oversight, operational execution and ongoing analysis across all company finance activities.


You will be expected to:


The Head of Finance, reporting to the COO, will provide overall finance leadership and enable the day-to-day management of the company's financial processes & systems, including FP&A, treasury, accounts/procurement, tax, and payroll/benefits.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and direct all aspects of the company finance function, including core internal activities and outsourced operations across UK, EU, and USA
  • Define and manage financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities to support annual business plans & longterm financing in line with overall corporate strategy
  • Support equity fundraising and business development activities, including transactional and diligence support and management of key financial investor/partner/banking relationships.
  • Financial and treasury management of group entities in the UK and USA
  • Oversight of all outsourced finance activities to seamlessly deliver ongoing management of outsourced finance activities, including payroll/benefits, accounts, AP, VAT returns, & tax planning
  • Financial management of employee compensation/payroll, benefits provision, and employee equity stock option scheme/platform
  • Ensure submission of UK and US corporate financial accounting and tax returns
  • Oversight of financial audit process and production of statutory accounts
  • Reporting of financial information in line with company board & shareholder requirements, including monthly/quarterly/yearend management accounts (P&L, Balance sheet, Cashflow) and company capitalisation table
  • Management of outsourced Company Secretarial function and corporate recordkeeping
  • Enhance financial systems, processes/controls and practices as required to support company growth, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:


  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with minimum 5 years PQE and an excellent understanding of international corporate legal, financial, compliance and regulations
  • Prior experience with venture capital / private equity financing activities is preferable
  • Prior experience in a rapidly growing corporate environment, ideally in biotech or pharmaceuticals
  • Prior experience and understanding of managing employee share option plans and associated equity transactions is preferable
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company and with external shareholders, auditors, regulators and service providers
  • Proactive in seeking improvements, efficiencies and embracing new technologies
  • Applied knowledge of current best practices, trends and law relating to finance strategy and practice
  • Ability to work and adapt to a changing, fastpaced environment and comfortable being handson whilst also owning the overall finance strategy
