£16.12 per hour PAYE
This opening assignment is for 3 months.
Working from home primarily with occasional travel to town hall for team meeting necessary.
This is a temp to perm role
Basic DBS check required
Must be able to travel, using public or other forms of transport where they are viable, or by holding a valid UK driving licence with access to own or pool car.
The post-holder will ensure contracting arrangements are in place for all services purchased for Children's Services, with a particular emphasis on Children in Care
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of tender documents, contracts and service specifications in liaison with professional staff and in negotiation with providers and prospective providers.
- Provide advice, guidance and practical assistance in relation to contractual and monitoring issues including Children's Services Managers and staff, and contracted providers.
- Carry out contract monitoring to assess the performance of providers in accordance with stated standards
- Maintain accurate computerised records in relation to contracts, provider information and services; and to produce regular management information reports.
- Responsible for approving and processing all invoices for Children's Services providers.
- Responsible for covering the post of Placement Finding Officer who brokers all external children's placements

- Previous experience of contracting and compliance services or transferable skills
- Experience of using a case management system, Microsoft Excel or other similar systems.
- Experienced in collecting, collating and summarising information including statistical information to produce management reports and financial forecasts.
- Experience of development, preparation and creation of contracts and service specifications including liaising with providers, legal services, insurance brokers and other key stakeholders.
- An understanding of the children's services sector
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Highly efficient with excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to absorb, understand and quickly assimilate complex information and concepts and compare information from a number of different sources.
- Excellent time management skills, creating own work schedules, prioritising, preparing in advance and setting realistic timescales for own self and others.
- Strong decision making skills with the ability to resolve complex issues in a pressurised environment.
- Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
