We offer a position with a great work/life balance 4 Day Week - 39 hours - Monday - Thursday*We are a well-established bespoke furniture maker on the edge of the Cotswolds.


Archer and Smith Limited have been in business for over 60 years and have established a world-wide reputation as makers of high-quality bespoke furniture, cabinetry and specialist joinery.


We work in collaboration with renowned designers and architects and also directly with private clients on prestigious projects throughout the world.

We pride ourselves in the quality of our work and our excellent customer service. The majority of our work comes through recommendations, referrals and continuing business relationships.

Our workshop is in West Swindon, a short distance from the Cotswolds and other areas of outstanding natural beauty. There are excellent transport links to London, Bristol and the West Country.

There are numerous excellent schools in and around the area, and beautiful countryside minutes away including the Cotswold Water Park and the River Thames.


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced furniture maker/joiner who has knowledge and experience in reading and interacting with CAD drawing and 3D models.


As
Production Controller you will co-ordinate and control the flow of work and information from design through manufacturing to completion and final delivery.

Duties

  • Receive initial design brief to create the job specification.
  • Coordinating the design information and drawings.
  • Responsible for the production of samples, BOM and cutting lists.
  • Support workshop manufacturing methodology queries and communicate manufacturing process/updates/concerns back to the management team.
  • Work closely with the whole team to ensure a seamless fulfilment of client orders.
  • Prepare an accurate onsite installation pack including drawings, packing lists, labelling for items, special build and work instructions for the installation team
  • Coordinating and communicating with subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing team and undertake some purchasing duties.
  • Fully understanding the objectives and scope of each project, including timescales, verification of design and budget control.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner when attending client site visits.
Person specification

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a highend cabinet making or specialist joinery role.
  • Understand a variety of manufacturing methods; you will have a good knowledge of the use of timber products, glass, metal, stone and fabrics.
  • Must be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications and to effectively communicate the requirements to the production team.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Experience of working on multiple projects, from inception to completion within a workshop environment.
  • Strong problemsolving skills must be solution focused.
  • Proactive and selfmotivated; able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Excellent planning, organisational skills, including maintaining the company filing structure.
  • Must be competent in using Microsoft Office including excel.
  • The ability to multitask and organise a changeable workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
  • Commercial awareness.

Hours:


4 day week - 39-hour week Monday to Thursday 7.15am - 5.30pm**Except when there is a Bank Holiday Monday - 4 day working week will be Tuesday - Friday 7.15am - 5.30pm Bank Holiday hours are included in the annual leave entitlement.
