Finance Assistant

Reporting to:

Finance & Resource Manager


Grade:

Central Support


Job Purpose


As Finance Assistant you will support the Finance & Resource Manager in the management of the Purchase, Sales, Payroll, Fixed Asset and General ledgers for the organisation, along with contributing to the periodic reporting duties for senior management and the Board of Directors.

You will provide support for senior managers in the recruitment and induction of new employees.


Task or Responsibility - there is an expectation that all, or a combination, of the following will be undertaken:
Coordinating the processing and reconciliation of customer sales and supplier purchase invoices for the organisation.

Coordinating the processing of automated online banking transactions and reconciliation with finance systems.

Supporting the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns

Supporting in the preparation of monthly management accounts reports from trial balance

Supporting the preparation of annual statutory accounts for external audit

Supporting the preparation of annual company Budget Plan

Supporting the onboarding process of new recruits for a monthly payroll circa. 70 employees

Maintaining new start, leaver, and amendments in the company Personnel records

Maintain effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continued good reputation of the company

Ad hoc projects and duties consistent with the post as and when required

Educated to a minimum of HNC level or qualified by experience.

A highly numerate and accurate individual with good communications skills at all levels.

A confident individual comfortable with taking ownership of end-to-end processing.

Good level of experience and competence in MS Office products e.g. Excel, Word.

Experience of using accounting software, particularly Sage packages.

High level of competency with IT skills.
