Position Required:
Cook

Holmleigh is a well established private residential care facility for elderly adults with various health needs we are committed to the highest standards of care being delivered with quality, honesty and openness.

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our Catering team who is committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen and during the food preparation process.

Skills and experience required

Previous experience of cooking in a care environment is desirable.
Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members is essential.
A willingness to learn is essential.

Working hours and salary
- £10.42 to £11.70 per hour depending on experience

40 hours per week

Role Responsibilities:

Food preparation and cooking for daily menus
Review menus as necessary
An understanding of textured diets where required
The ability to prepare special diets e.g. coeliac, low salt or as directed by the manager
Keeping to a designated budget
Ordering and storing of food products in accordance with Government legislation
To ensure statutory and Company Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules.
Ensure compliance at all times of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP requirements and legislation.
