About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Event Producer to join a forward-thinking media and events company.


The Event Producer will lead on researching, curating, and delivering our client's Tech Series and a portfolio of policy events in a variety of formats, such as party conference fringe events.

As project manager for the assigned portfolio of events, the Event Producer will work in partnership with the Marketing, Events and Sales teams to ensure that the events within the portfolio generate revenue to meet predefined budget targets.


Using the relationships, you build with event partners and high-profile speakers, the Event Producer will enrich the content led marketing by linking relevant policy announcements, thought leadership and research to help attract delegates and sponsors to our events.

You will lead on our data and be confident live tweeting our events on-the-day for a combination of in person, hybrid, and virtual events.


Our client also produces a Magazine which is Scotland's fortnightly political and current affairs magazine that keeps people informed with its award-winning and thought-provoking editorial.

Our client is frequently quoted within the Scottish Parliament as a source of reliable information and political debate.


Responsibilities and Main tasks:


  • Development of all events within a predetermined portfolio, including, but not limited to:
  • research of policy areas
- agenda creation
- recruitment and management of speakers

  • Act as project manager for the portfolio of events, ensuring actions and deliverables are met by all members of the team (Event Ops, Marketing, Sales).
  • Generate ticket income (for those with this commercial model) to meet a yearly target.
  • Identification and management of key partner relationships in predefined policy areas.
  • Identification of new event opportunities in all policy areas.
  • Support the Marketing team with content and copy, to enable the marketing of events, and the development of the delegate contact database.
  • Support Event Operations in the preparation of event admin, logistics and AV activities.
  • Lead, with support from Event Operations, on delivering an excellent ontheday experience for delegates, speakers, and sponsors.
  • Contribute to the successful running of the function by participating in meetings and reviews and lead certain functional projects to improve processes and procedures.
  • Support Sales to identify new commercial opportunities in all policy areas and generate new revenue streams within event formats.

External Relationships

  • Clients sponsoring events, speakers at events, delegates attending events.

Experience and knowledge required:


  • 3+ years of relevant experience within a similar role.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Ability to write concise marketing copy.
  • IT literate.
  • Project Management Skills.

  • Ability to assimilate complex, technical information and make it digestible.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver projects under tight deadlines.

Education and Qualifications Competencies:


  • A degree in politics, policy, public affairs or corporate communications or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • MS Office.

Specialist Skills:


  • Customer awareness understanding the audience & what will motivate someone to pay to attend an event
  • Understanding how the Scottish public sector operates
  • Project management and forward planning

Desirable

  • Interest in and knowledge of the Scottish political environment and policy processes.
  • An understanding of key issues and stakeholders within the technology sector
