Description
We are looking for a QES Advisor to join our growing team to cover the Thames Valley area.

This role will provide the opportunity to complete inspections, provide QES support on Site and carry out incident investigations as well as providing feedback and carrying out briefings to sites.

You will operate as a visible and hands on individual, passionate about health, safety and the environment and champion best practice ensuring it is embedded in every team.


Further responsibilities will include:


Maintain a programme of Health, Safety and Environmental site visits which could be inspections, support visits, engagement tours to ensure site compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and record keeping on our electronic system.

Attend relevant construction pre-site meetings to provide Health, Safety and Environmental advice before projects begin operating on sites.

Facilitate incident investigations as part of an investigation team as required.

This will include gathering evidence, interviewing and completing the investigation report in accordance with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System procedures.

Be a key point of contact for Design and Construction related Health, Safety & Environmental advice

Liaise with our clients and other framework contractors on health and safety matters

Develop & deliver Health, Safety & Environmental training as required, including supporting the roll out of health and safety campaigns and stand downs


Reporting to the Lead QES Adviser you will need to demonstrate proven experience in supporting health, safety and environmental plans in complex settings and be competent with utilizing and adapting digital technologies to improve performance and outcomes.

You will need to have excellent communication and people skills with strong analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations and be passionate about people and upholding with high standards of in health, safety & / environmental practice.

Essential

  • Qualifications relevant Degree/NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety


  • Accreditations

  • Tech/Grad IOSH/CMIOSH
  • Construction industry experience (infrastructure/utilities)
  • Experience of environmental compliance risks, including prevention and mitigation
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills able to interact with people at all levels
  • Willingness to travel and overnight stays
  • Experience of integrated management systems (ISO 9001/14001/45001)

Desirable:
Civil engineering design & construction experience

Water industry experience

Environmental knowledge/qualification
