London Art Bar Assistant Manager - PopUp Painting & Events LTD.

We are seeking somebody with food and beverage / hospitality experience to complement our team. Experience in these sectors is essential.

You will support the bar manager in ensuring The London Art Bar runs smoothly, making it a top destination in the Holborn area for our wide range of events, and developing our offering for after work drinks.

The role will include:


Operational Management Support:


1.


Premises management:

supporting with security, deliveries, ensuring maintenance & cleaning of premises/facilities/utilities/equipment and disposal of waste, and effective opening & closing procedures.

Food & beverage supplies:
including stock checks, supporting ordering & deliveries, ensuring consistent quality, and understanding relationships with key suppliers.


3.

Food & beverage service and delivery:
Working on the bar, providing high quality service and product delivery and encouraging this amongst the rest of the team


4. Team leadership - supporting training of bar staff, and facilitating best practice among events team, as well as developing good team relationships.

Equipment management:

reporting any issue in a timely manner, following up diligently, particularly with any issue which might impact on health and safety obligations.

Overseeing H&S and licence compliance:

maintaining, monitoring and enhancing the highest standards of hygiene and H&S in accordance with all statutory, legal and company requirements (including all relevant registrations).

Operating processes & systems:
understanding and implementing effective processes & systems including SOPs, H&S procedures and cash & expense handling


8.

Providing an excellent guest experience:
greeting and serving guests and ensuring the highest customer care standards from across the team


9. Supporting events management & delivery of on-site events and experiences


10. Contribute to the future development of The London Art Bar in collaboration with the wider team.


The ideal applicant will have experience of working in a food and beverages / hospitality and will demonstrate:

• Reasonable experience working in hospitality and/or food hygiene, preferably including management of a bar, restaurant or café
• Understanding of all relevant health and safety and legal requirements for the operation of a food and beverage establishment. Any relevant qualifications in hospitality and food hygiene/safety is useful
• Experience in a dynamic/pressurised hospitality environment
• Work calmly under pressure and be able to multitask
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both in person and in writing
• Work well in a team and supporting and motivating team members, as well as providing regular team development
• Maintain a can-do attitude and be solution-focussed
• Demonstrate ability to use judgement and make evidence based, reasonable and timely decisions and proposals
• Familiarity with standard IOS bar tools, Microsoft Office systems and standard events tech
• A genuine desire to provide the best customer experience, constantly reviewing and evolving performance both personally and across the team

The role will report to the London Art Bar Manager and be accountable to both Director of Marketing & Business Development and Managing Director

Salary will be c. £31k pro rata.
