Milk Education are seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic PMLD Teacher to work with pupils who have SEND, complex learning and physical difficulties.

The roles will be based in a Secondary special educational needs school.

Previous experience working with children or young people with learning difficulties or within the Health and Social Care sector would be beneficial, however, the most important attributeis the willingness to get involved and be proactive.

The school need someone who holds a full UK teaching qualification and has PMLD experience. The students are post 16 age and have profound and multiple learning difficulties. This is based in Keighley andpay is starting at 130 GBP per day.


If successful, you will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support access to learning and provide support.

Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the normal teaching area.


What you need to apply:
Previous experience working with children, or young adults, with ASD and complex needs (Voluntary welcome)
Confidence dealing with pupils with different abilities and SEND requirements
Good interpersonal and communicational skills
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children

Creative in approach to children's learning
Confident in implementing support techniques, such as PEC's & Makaton
Enthusiastic towards inspiring children
Happy to carry out personal care
Dedicated and caring
Able to demonstrate high expectations which are communicated to the child
Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to raise self-esteem
Compassionate and positive with a flexible approach when supporting the child

Extra 1:1 support may include

Medical Health Care Plans
Handwriting /fine motor/keyboard skills training
Group discussions and information given from our qualified school nurse
Familiarity with assistive technology (wheelchair)
Access to teaching assistant support
A willingness to support with personal care, although this may not be required
First Aid Training within the last two years is essential, although Epilepsy training would be beneficial
