The opportunity
We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to support Iris' European finance teams. The role requires a person who has experience with payroll processing.

You will be a key member of the European Finance team ensuring accurate and prompt payroll and benefits management and reporting.

There is an emphasis on accuracy and completeness of payroll and employment taxes data and working closely with the HR team, external authorities and outsourced payroll processing company.

It is anticipated that the payroll tasks of the role will make up 60% of the role, for the remainder of your time you will be able to get involved with various finance projects aimed at improving efficiency, control and reporting.

This role reports into the European FC.
How you'd spend your day

  • Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
  • Coordinate with HR and outsourced payroll processing company about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)
  • Reviewing payroll actuals against budgets and forecasts
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and legislation
  • Process other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, severance pay, taxes, worker's compensation)
  • Handle benefit expenses, like insurance fees or paid leave and process P11Ds.
  • Produce payroll reports as and when required
  • Process and post payroll journals in Maconomy
  • Answer employee questions or complaints about salaries and payments
  • Work with authorities (e.g. HMRC) on audits or requests
  • Other finance ad hoc projects as required
    What we're looking for
  • Proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role (at least 1 year) and knowledge of payroll processes.
  • Experience operating in a fastpaced environment with tight reporting deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating and gaining the trust of senior leaders and peers.
  • Previous agency experience would be a benefit, mindset, capability and drive are the priority.
  • Advanced Excel experience.
  • Experience using Maconomy beneficial but not required.
  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to payroll
  • Advanced Excel experience.
  • An analytical mind with good math skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
