As a Social Media Executive at PinkNews, you'll strategise content, create posts, and innovate new ways to capture audiences to enhance engagement and extend our reach.

You will ensure our content resonates across social platforms while contributing to a supportive and forward-thinking workplace.


Location:
Hybrid working - London office 2 days per week


Salary:
£25,000 - £28,000 DOE


Hours:
This role will include working 1 in 4 weekends and regular shift work


What You'll Be Doing Day to Day:

  • Audience Development: Identify, target, and engage specific audience segments across various social media platforms. Understand audience behaviour and devise strategies to attract, retain, and interact with these audiences.
  • Content Planning and Creation: Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar. Create compelling, authentic, and platformspecific content that resonates with our target audience and aligns with our brand voice.
  • Community Management**: Monitor, engage, and respond to comments and messages in a timely and thoughtful manner to foster community and drive engagement.
  • Social Media Strategy: Implement effective social media strategies that align with business goals and objectives. Work with Social Media Manager to refine strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Trend Spotting: Keep abreast of the latest social media trends, tools, platforms, and best practices. Identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Use data analytics tools to track audience engagement and adjust content strategies accordingly.
  • Use social media and other digital channels to promote PinkNews' journalism and engage with our audience.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams within the organisation such as content, marketing, sales, and customer service to ensure cohesive messaging and to meet overall business objectives.
  • Influencer Partnerships: Identify, reach out to, and manage relationships with influencers and key opinion leaders to expand reach and brand awareness.

Skills You'll Need:


  • Passion for LGBTQ+ content.
  • Experience in copywriting and community management.
  • Knowledgeable of social insights and experience using social listening and reporting tools such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite.
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing using tools such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience in creating weekly and monthly social media activity reports.
  • Keen interest in digital trends and social media platforms.
  • Experience working with journalists or working within a news organisation.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise and compelling social copy for a range of audiences.
  • Expertise with social media and digital journalism tools, and a willingness to experiment with new formats and approaches.
