Zenith People are proudly representing our client who are looking to expand significantly in 2023 and as a result of this are looking to bring an experience UK Service Engineer into their Team on a permanent basis.


Reporting to UK Service Manager working in Aftersales & Special Projects, the main purpose of the role will be to provide front line support in a customer facing way under the guidance of the Aftersales and Service Manager.


The role will initially be centred around supporting the UK Service Manager to set up the aftersales / service function within the business so there is significant opportunity for the individual to mould how the service engineer team will work in the futureto ensure that the customer base receive "world class" aftersales and service support.


The role is customer facing and as the team grows will likely involve travel around the UK to help customers / service centres with issues that may have occurred.


Key Activities:


  • Help develop the service engineer processes and operating strategy in conjunction with the UK service manager
  • Respond to customer complaints / issues as instructed by the UK Service Manager
  • Analyses and resolves customer issues
  • Supports procurement and delivery of parts to support close out of customer issues
  • Reports on customer visits and feedbacks into the business to ensure any issues can be evaluated and corrective actions taken
  • Supports customer and end user training on products as required
  • Spend time with some customers to understand the integration of the product to support the product knowledge
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the customer
  • Supports testing and development of products as required (especially in the early phases)
  • Completing preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  • Identify new sales opportunities
  • Undertake any other duties of which the knowledge, skills and experience required fall within a post holder's position in the company.

Education/Qualifications Required:


  • Any professional qualification appropriate to customer service is desirable
  • H&S qualification such as IOSH working safely / managing safely
  • H&S qualification such as Nebosh is desirable.
  • Professional Six Sigma qualification is desirable
  • Valid driving license and good driving record is required

Experience Required:


  • 58 years' experience in a hands on service engineer role
  • Proven track record of meeting customers' needs
  • Detailed understanding of problemsolving techniques
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment (PLCs)
  • Experience in High Voltage is desirable
  • Previous experience Fault Finding to System component level
