It is the responsibility of the social media team to make Wickes relevant for the next generation of DIY lovers, bringing to life our Kitchen and Bathroom transformations and highlighting our great offers and discounts to the Trade.

Working pattern:
Hybrid, 3 days in Watford Support Centre, 2 days from home each week

Internship Description

This Social Media internship is for the TikToker, the Pinner, and the Instagrammer who is ready to use their creativity and social media skills to drive engagement for Wickes.

The internship will involve working closely with our Social Media Executive and Senior Social Media Manager. It will be flexible, working 3 days a week in the Watford Support Centre and 2 days from home.

Role responsibilities:

Creating engaging and compelling content for Wickes social media channels
Writing and scheduling all posts/reels/stories.
Gathering results on the performance of content through our social media monitoring platform, Sprinklr
Interacting with followers to build a strong online presence
Encouraging customers to share their DIY and Kitchen and Bathroom projects with us on social media so that we can champion their images and videos across our marketing channels.
Staying up to date with the latest social media trends and sharing relevant information with the wider team

What we are looking for in you:

A true social media native, you post on Instagram Stories, you were the first to download Threads and you love binge-watching TikTok.
Outgoing a natural networker in order to unearth engaging stories and content from across the business.
Organised, proactive, confident and resilient
Being creative comes naturally, you see something on social media and you immediately want to give it a go
Great copywriting skills, with meticulous attention to detail
A passion for learning, with a positive, friendly, and engaged attitude
Experience with creative software such as Photoshop and Canva is beneficial
Preferably have an interest in home renovation and interiors
