Speech and Language TA | Primary School | January Start | Newham


Speech and Language Teaching Assistant role in a primary school in Newham, East London working with 5-11 year olds with Speech and Language difficulties.


We are looking for an organised and pro-active teaching assistant looking for experience to perhaps go on and be a Speech and Language therapist or a Primary School Teacher in the future.

You should have previous experience working with children or youngpeople with speech and language difficulties and have a passion for this kind of work.

The role would suit a graduate with related degree and an interest in Psychology or Psychotherapy. Additional qualifications related to Speech & Language or autism are a bonus.

The role with involve doing 1:1 and small group interventions with children from reception up to KS2.

You will also be assisting with learning, supporting the class teacher and there will also be some speech and language intervention outside the classroom.


You should be an enthusiastic individual who is keen to work with children with Special Educational Needs in a primary school environment.

The role is to start in January and will initially run through for the rest of the academic year.


All Teaching Assistants at the school received regular training and CPD and develop their skills and experience throughout the year.
