Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Working within EYFS

SEND Support for learners aged - 5

Rotherham, South Yorkshire


Unique School Solutions are supporting a Multi Academy Trust in South Yorkshire to appoint a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join them from September 2023.

The appointed Teaching Assistant will support Reception age students who have diagnosed SEND or are on the referral pathway.


The duties will include:

  • Supporting young learners with Social, Communication and Interaction needs such as Autism
  • Follow the children's EHCP and individual plans for learning to suit their requirements
  • Work closely with the SENCO, Class Teacher and external agencies
  • Liaise with parents / carers when required
  • Support the Teacher with planning and preparation of activities and resources for learning
  • Prioritise the children's wellbeing and safety at all times, following safeguarding policies
  • Using positive handling techniques in relation to children's behaviour
  • Have previous experience of working with children with SEND ideally (not essential)
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting learners with SEND and bettering their future and education to their full potential
Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning (or above or equivalent) is essential for this role due to ratio requirements.
