Role Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Governance Lead to join our Data Management department.

Reporting to the Global Head of Data, you will be developing and implementing the data governance framework.

The Data Governance Lead will be a pivotal role contributing to and implementing data governance activities to cross-functional business domains.

You will be collaborating with the wider data team to establish policies, procedures, and standards that will assist with advancing the firms capabilities and bringing improvements in data management practices to the firm.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement a comprehensive data governance framework and be responsible for improving and maintaining the integrity of data assets
  • Promote a datadriven culture across the firm, working with the business stakeholders to educate on the importance of data governance and stewardship.
  • Define process maps, knowledge transfer and conduct workshops to identify critical data elements.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the data governance practices, making necessary adjustments to accommodate evolving regulations and industry best practices
  • Convene a data working group comprised of business data experts that will work together toward incremental enhancements to the Business Glossary, Metadata Management, and Data Quality initiatives.
  • Assist in establishing processes for maintaining the Business Glossary and Metadata Repository
  • Produce key artefacts that form the basis of a data governance program.
  • Data Governance or Data Management professional certifications would be beneficial.
  • Any experience or awareness of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF / DAMA would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data governance programs, including data quality and data classification.
  • Proven background in a management role, with change or transformation leadership experience.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of data maturity assessment and appraisal process
  • Understand the concepts of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data integrity.
  • Implementation experience of business glossaries, data dictionaries, DQ solutions, data catalogues, lineage, master data and metadata management.
