Job Description:

This job will be a hybrid with 2-3 days in our office located in Bracknell.

The Cloud FinOps Lead is the recognized expert within Snow, specifically focused on the best practice of cost optimization for the cloud services that are used to build, host and manage Snow's products.

They share their expertise across team boundaries and increase the general knowledge and adoption of best practice of their domain within Snow to maximize the business value of Snow's cloud investment.

Benchmark and plan the adoption of FinOps capabilities and practices across Snow, representing Engineering at Snow's internal FinOps forums and be a representative Snow in the FinOps Foundation.
Lead by example to make cloud cost transparent and understandable. Working across Architecture, Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, Finance and partners to monitor and administer Snow's product license & cloud costs, identifying cost drivers and ensuring optimization opportunities across teams are implemented.
Deliver training on cloud cost management to enable both technical and business stakeholders adoption, understanding and management of costs.
Monitor and administer Snow's product cost models, ensuring actual costs are aligned to models to support strategic cost forecasting.
Administer cost management tools to support cost management and optimization.
Present Snow's product cloud costs to successfully gain stakeholder approval for datadriven recommendations and opportunities to optimize
Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, tools and standard processes related to cloud cost management. Contribute to the roadmap for cloud management that align to Snow's strategic goals

Qualifications:

Must-have skills, experience and knowledge:

Credible level knowledge of public cloud providers and services with demonstrable evidence of enhancing business value through FinOps capabilities
Demonstrable experience and deep knowledge of cloud cost management such as spot instances, reserved instances and other FinOps capabilities and using best practices such as Microsoft Pricing Calculator, Microsoft Azure Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework
Demonstrable continual improvement mindset, benchmarking, analysis and successfully gaining senior stakeholder approval for datadriven recommendations
Has previously worked in a technical / engineering capacity operating cloud services

Nice-to-have skills & experience:

Has previously contributed to the creation / administration of cost models
Has previously optimized consumption and costs with SaaS vendors such as SumoLogic and MongoDB
Has previously worked in an ITAM role or managing software licenses
