HR Manager

They help homelessness, health, and social care providers improve services by creating engaging visual tools and promoting collaborative ways of working.

Human Resources Manager
Location:
Hybrid working, with occasional travel to offices in Hove and Buxton
Salary:
£40 - £50k (FTE) - depending on experience
Contract:
permanent hours per week

About the role:
You will be an HR Manager in a mission-led organisation that helps service providers support people to make meaningful changes in their lives.
The Star is widely used in the 3rd sector, housing, local and health authorities in mental health, homelessness, employability, criminal justice, supporting families etc.
As HR Manager your key responsibilities will include:
*Manage the recruitment and selection process
*Create and implement effective and consistent induction plans issuing and renewing staff contracts
*Develop and implement a learning and development strategy to include mentoring, volunteering, coaching and training
*Develop initiatives that will support the team's wellbeing
*Create, review and implement effective policies and procedures, including remuneration, appraisals and hybrid working Review and refine the approach to role descriptions and performance management
*Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures
*Develop a values-led approach to leadership and support line managers in developing their leadership and management skills
*Manage the HR system and database
About you:
You will need to be an outstanding, people-centred HR professional who has experience of bringing in the best talent, supporting personal and professional development, and creating inclusive, innovative policies and initiatives that enable teams to grow and flourish.
Working for a small organisation, you will need to be someone who is as comfortable developing an organisational learning strategy as managing the mechanics of a specific recruitment process.
You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:*Experience as an HR manager or other HR executive
*Demonstrable experience of HR systems and an interest in using information and data to uncover insights that can improve performance and wellbeing
*Ability to architect and implement strategies that will support a positive, productive and dynamic work environment
*Commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion
*Excellent active listening, communication and interpersonal skills
*In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
*Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities
*HR credentials (CIPD or equivalent) and/or degree in Human Resources
Although not essential familiarity with Sociocracy and/or TEAL Principles would be beneficial for this role.
