InvestIN creates the 'ultimate career experience' through a combination of interactive simulations, company visits, seminars, networking sessions and career coaching, led by highly accomplished industry professionals.

We have had over 50,000 students walkthrough our doors, from 100+ countries and 4,000+ schools.


InvestIN are seeking to employ individuals to work as the onsite Safeguarding Team, commencing during the Summer Experience season of 2023.


The Role

Purpose:

The Safeguarding Team covers a 24/7 service and is responsible for all InvestIN's residing and non-residing students during the summer (July 6th - Sept 2nd).

The SGT is fully responsible for safeguarding and welfare, mental healthand SEN needs, pastoral support, and student behaviour.


The Roles:

SSO and HP role will be based around guiding and leading in a senior capacity to ensure that the SGT deliver best practice under their remit.

The SSO and HP may be expected to deputise for the Head of Safeguarding.


Role Specifics:
SSO will cover both day and night shifts while the HP will only cover night working.


Salary:

SSO -£28,000 (pro-rated pending shifts worked
  • Day and night on rotation). Enhanced night pay will be paid as overtime in September, for all night shifts completed.***:

  • HP-£30,000 (pro-rated pending shifts worked
  • Night only). This salary is inclusive of night pay.

Contract:
The SSO & HP will be expected to work the full 8-week season (July 6th - Sept 2nd 2023)**
Shift Patterns (SSO)

  • Day: 9:00am 6:00pm (flexibility around these hours may be required and will be requested in advance)
  • Night: 11:00pm 8:30am**

  • Night: 8:30pm 8:30am

Basic Duties
The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of the SSO & HP.

Although this is a senior role, we expect that all members of the SGT can get stuck in and work on the ground.


  • Act as the first point of contact providing support, intervention, and advice for all InvestIN's attending students, relating to the above team purpose.
  • Manage and lead student behaviour and expectations.
  • Liaise with parents/guardians when delegated by the Head of Safeguarding/Directors.
  • Manage/ lead on breaches of the Code of Conduct/issue warnings.
  • Liaise with the Head of Safeguarding regarding student warnings and expected followup actions.
  • Provide an advanced advisory service for staff in relation to the SGT purpose and how to manage concerns.
  • When needed, lead the SGT.
  • Communicate via designated online channels.
  • Oversee the effective use of reports, CPOMs, safety plans and risk assessments.
  • Always lead the SGT and student population on behaviour management.
  • During shifts (if scheduled by the Head of Safeguarding), lead on specialism; SEN/Behaviour, Mental Health, and Medication administration. As an SSO /HP, manage those who can lead in the above.
  • Lead on serious disclosures and interventions.
  • Make referrals to statutory bodies.
  • Understand the NRM and LA thresholds.
  • Ensure the SGT are prepared for the evening activities, carrying out adequate supervision during this period.
  • Lead on the effective record keeping of the SGT
  • Enforce student curfew and evening expectations.
  • Complete security walks/ remove contraband.
  • When night working, act as onsite Point of Contact (POC) for all concerns that may occur.
  • Manage staff breaks.
  • Support the Head of Safeguarding with changes to the rota (if required)
  • Be flexible to carry out additional duties pending the needs of the service and students.
