We are delighted to partner with a highly regarded, academic secondary school in Croydon, South London, to find an exceptional and passionate Head of Art.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to fostering a love for the Arts in students of all abilities.

The Role
As Head of Art, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the department

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading a dedicated team of Art teachers to deliver a rich and engaging curriculum for KS3, KS4, and KS5 students.
Developing and implementing a cohesive Art curriculum that aligns with the school's ethos and national curriculum requirements.
Providing expert guidance and mentorship to colleagues, nurturing their professional development.
Leading by example, delivering inspiring and effective Art lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression.
Overseeing the department's resources and budget, ensuring optimal utilization.
Cultivating strong relationships with parents, external organizations, and the wider school community.
Holds a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE) in Art.
Possesses extensive experience in leading a secondary school Art department.
Demonstrates a proven track record of raising student attainment and achievement in Art.
Exhibits a strong pedagogical understanding and a passion for innovative teaching methods.
Possesses excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Holds a genuine enthusiasm for the Arts and a desire to inspire students.
