Procurement Manager
Peterborough - 3 days a week in the office
An excellent new opportunity due to growth.

You will be ambitious and have a proven track record as a Procurement professional, who has demonstrable experience of delivering small to large scale tenders as well as a range of projects.

You will either have experience of Category Planning or have a desireto develop these skills.

You will be dealing with the most senior managers within the business, and as such you must have excellent stakeholders' skills, including influencing and negotiation.

You will be supporting every element of the procurement life cycle,running a range of tenders, projects and developing long-term category plans and sourcing plans.

This will support the businesses vision, by ensuring you have the right supply arrangements in place to deliver their growth strategy.

Experience can come from a range of industries, although experience of procurement in the retail or manufacturing industry, would be advantageous.

Although the commercial instinct, ambition and soft skills are essential attributes.

Key Deliverables:
These include but not limited to;

  • Developing market knowledge
  • Carrying out spend analysis
  • Options analysis
  • Advising on procurement legislations
  • Category Planning
  • Sourcing Plans
  • Developing tender documentation
  • The ability to manage change
  • Running tenders
  • Act as a key point of contact between the company and suppliers
  • Developing excellent working relationships
  • Write and execute procurement sourcing strategies
  • Leading on projects to improve integration processes between systems
  • Looking for savings and improvements from supply chain
  • Degree Qualification(s) or equivalent professional qualification (CIPS Level 5 qualified)
  • Extensive experience of executing robust procurement strategies and identifying areas of continuous improvement to drive business growth
  • Commercial acumen
  • Excellent planning, management and organisation skills; able to set and meet tight deadlines and targets
  • Able to set and evaluate costs and budgets
  • Previous track record in a procurement manager or category manager role
