The Role:


Fantastic opportunity for a driven, diligent and highly organised individual to join a Financial Control team as a Group Financial Accountant, based at Group Support in Lichfield.

This role will report directly into the Assistant Group Financial Controllerand is aimed at someone who wants to develop their skillset by gaining direct experience in the production of financial statements, tax computations and supporting tasks.


Responsibilities:


  • Key point of contact for the Group's external auditors
  • Production of Group consolidation financial statements
  • Production of 29 legal entities financial statements and corporation tax computations
  • Production of quarterly condensed consolidated financial statements
  • Keeping up to date with accounting standards
  • Assisting with Management Accounts including the preparation of the Group VAT return
  • Ongoing maintenance and updating of the fixed asset register and IFRS16 leases
  • Preparing intercompany transactions for subsidiary and group financial reporting
  • Ad hoc duties covering treasury, financial control and taxation
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently, prioritising tasks and workloads
  • Good level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to meet fixed reporting deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually using own initiative

Essential:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or someone nearing completion of their studies
  • Understanding of IFRS with a strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience in preparing financial statements
  • Excellent written, verbal and communications skills
  • IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Highly analytical
