Job Description:


Assystem is pleased to be hiring for HVAC/Installation Delivery Lead to work on the prestigious Hinkley Point C site in Bridgwater.

The HVAC/Installation Delivery Lead (CDL) will be expected to oversee all site activities under the MEH Alliance and offer support and guidance in a Line Management capacity to HVAC/Installation Delivery Managers on site.


This scope is for Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC activities supporting the MEH Alliance activities on site.
As HVAC/Installation Delivery Lead, you will be expected to undertake responsibilities including:

  • Manage and develop their HVAC/Installation Delivery Managers, to ensure they have a good understanding of site activities and can carry out their role accordingly. Offer support and guidance, along with ensuring that all appropriate training for a CDM is undertaken.
  • Oversee all aspects of Health Safety and Environment during construction activities in their allocated area (s), in accordance with the NNB HPC Construction Phase Plan.
  • Undertake and record safety and/or assurance inspections that support the project KPI's. The tool used at HPC is INSIGHT, familiarity with this software is desirable.
  • HVAC/Installation Delivery Lead shares the HVAC/Installation Delivery Manager's responsibilities depending on work area and scope complexity. When nominated by the SCDM, undertakes role of HVAC/Installation Delivery Manager for specific areas as required.
  • Ensures that the HPC Drumbeat for the series of daily and weekly meetings is understood and carried out by CDMs.
  • Organise and conduct weekly planning meetings called Plan of the Week (PLOWs) with the Contractor Partners, to ensure the coordination and short term planning is in line with the overall delivery schedule and outputs are recorded and issues escalated.
  • Supports the CDM/Contract Partners in the running of the Plan of the Day meetings (PLODs).
  • Attends all appropriate Coordination Meetings for their areas of works. CDMs will support.
  • Attends all weekly, monthly MDT meetings for their areas of work and contracts. CDMs will support.
  • Leads all weekly construction meetings for their area of works and contracts, using and updating the Issues & Action Tracker created for all of the NI Mechanical & Electrical works, with CDM support.
  • Oversee the contractors' management of all construction and labour force logistics and contracts relating to the works to be constructed.
  • Support the Tier 1 contract partners in the delivery of their scope, providing information and coordination to support the contractual management of the works.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns, along with program restraints. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g., issue communications, call meetings) to avoid the cessation of works. This includes but is not limited to review of documents, assurance audits, etc.
  • Reviews the Construction Daily Site Logs (DSL), Surveillance Guideline, produced by the CDM's, to ensure information is reported to the required level of detail, up through the organisation and escalates any issues/concerns via detailed reports. Fieldview and QCFC training will be required.
  • If required to do so by the SCDM due to resource constraints and the "Agile" approach, monitor works on site, record findings in your DSL, using the Quality Control For Construction tool QCFC, and capturing this on the issued Tough Pad, ensuring information is reported up through the organisation to the SCDM. Photographs of working activities should be taken and placed in the DSL, along with Photographs of the Works Authorisation Form, Temporary Access Certificate, Permits and POWRA. Check all are in date and valid.
  • Ensures that a Surveillance Programme is in place for all contracts associated with their work area.
  • Proactively communicate/coordinate with site functions (H&S, quality, surveillance, commercial, project controls, logistics) and other DM's, DL's & SDM's, to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported. This will also include regular attendance at Daily Activity Briefings (DAB's), Pre-Start Briefings, POWRA and supporting the delivery of key messages to the contractor's organisation, along with attendance at the delivery of any major Toolbox Talk or Specific Safety B
