Description
At Kings Lynn, we work on behalf of a major Frozen food retailers with close links to other DFDS sites and contracts based throughout the UK.
Our aim is for a high performing team who deliver great service to our customers in the most cost-effective solution possible.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support other team members in problem solving, carrying out root cause analysis and driving improvements.
- Liaise with the coldstore to arrange the efficient loading of vehicles.
- Ensure invoices, reports and statistical information are completed on time in full.
- Prebrief and debrief drivers to ensure they understand their requirements for the day and that we act on any issues they find whilst on the job.
- Develop an understanding of DFDS IT systems such as Velocity and Mandata.
- Good IT skills covering Microsoft packages and ability to understand external systems such as Tachomaster.
- Ensure audit performance set against regulatory, legislative and business requirements are completed.
- Communicate directly with our customers, listening to their needs and giving them great customer service.
- Work closely with the Regional Transport Manager and be reactive to the needs of the business, flexing what the priorities are on any given day.
- Support in the resourcing our of driver plan to ensure delivery on time and management of costs.
- Building a relationship with the Planning Control Tower to make sure we continuously improve and get better every day.
