The Benefits:


  • Salary of £45,000 £55,000 per annum
  • 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays, rising to 32 after five years' service

The Role

As a Depot Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service and adherence to health & safety requirements.

Motivating and developing your team, you'll ensure that all colleagues are trained, skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of ERP, WMS and TMS software to support operational effectiveness.

You'll manage the staff rota to ensure adequate cover and maintainproductivity.

Engaging with the Customer Service Team, you'll deliver robust feedback and ensure an effective debriefing process to support accuracy and continuous improvement.

You'll liaise with other managers to ensure the smooth running of the entire City Hire operation.

Your role will also involve:

  • Ensuring stock is safe, accessible and suitable to hire
  • Controlling labour usage to ensure financial and budget targets are achieved
  • Attending regular management meetings

About You
To be considered as a Depot Manager, you will need:

  • At least five years' experience in a depot and/or warehouse management role
  • Experience of checking loads in and out
  • Experience of responsibility for health & safety requirements
  • Experience of setting up WMS or similar
  • An appreciation for great customer service
  • A logical and methodical approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • To be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages
