Complex Needs Playworker

Hours:
during school Easter holidays 4th, 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th April 2023

Opportunity to work during Summer holidays - approx. 12 days. Dates to be confirmed


About the Playscheme.


Scunthorpe playscheme is run as an Easter and Summer holiday programme for children with special educational needs, physical disabilities and complex medical needs.


Children attend play days, that are child centred and provides them with specialist one to one personal care and medical attention as required.


All children attending have an Educational Health Care Plan and additional needs that range from Autism Spectrum Condition/ ASC, moderate learning difficulties/MLD to profound and multiple learning difficulties/PMLD to Physical Disabilitiesand complex medical needs.

About the Role_

We seek an experienced applicant who is flexible, enthusiastic, and dedicated to supporting children with educational needs. The right applicant must have _NVQ Level 2 qualification (or above), _be hard working, kind, caring and encourage children.

We are calling on all caring, compassionate and experienced individuals who can:

  • Be conscientious always and committed to working with a strong work ethic
  • Have experience working 1:1 with SEN students, including children with ASD.
  • Preferable _3 _years' experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Be confident working 11 and able to work well as part of a team
  • Use a child centred approach to create a stimulating and fun learning environment
  • Have a Consistent approach to challenging behaviour
  • Look after a child's physical, social, and emotional welfare
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures to carry out personal care, including toileting.
A caring and responsible attitude towards children is essential as is a willingness to undertake training. You must have good communication skills and a flexible approach. A basic knowledge of first aid would be helpful.
