As Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement Officer you will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of innovative engagement and volunteering initiatives for King's Business School alumni community and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement Manager and working closely with colleagues across the faculty and Alumni & Supporter Development, you will be creative in your approach, providing a range of opportunities for alumni and stakeholders to meaningfully connect with and support King's Business School.

You'll have the opportunity to lead projects from start to finish, setting goals, measuring success, and evaluating impact of activities.


A key element of this role is to strengthen senior alumni and stakeholder engagement across academic and strategic faculty activities.

You will manage relationships with a portfolio of alumni and connect them with volunteering and engagement opportunities which advances the School's strategy.

The role will deliver personalised relationship management and engagement to the School's key stakeholder groups. In doing so, it will develop new and creative ways to engage our community with the School's work.


You will be part of a dynamic External Engagement Team within King's Business School with a dotted line to the College's Fundraising and Supporter Development, Alumni & Supporter Development Team.

The post-holder will need to demonstrate ability to build effective relationships and projects across both departments.

This is a fixed-term vacancy available until 30 August 2024.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 1 year 4 months (until 30 August 2024)

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent

Key responsibilities

  • Work with Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement Manager to advance School's strategy for alumni and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deliver a targeted programme of events and engagement activity which raises the School's profile and connectivity with alumni and stakeholders. Programme to support cultivation, engagement, philanthropy and stewardship activities for alumni and stakeholders.
  • Project management and operational support for UK and international alumni engagement and leadership activities.
  • Cultivate, manage and steward relationships with senior alumni and external stakeholder to support the School's strategy. Support senior alumni engagement for strategic programme including the KBS Executive Fellows.
  • Develop relationships with key academic staff and influence stakeholders across the School to advance alumni and stakeholder outreach for their key priorities. Strengthen alumni presence within key academic and careers curriculum/programme.
  • Cultivate relationships with relevant student societies and groups, ensuring that opportunities to build networks with future alumni ambassadors are maximised.
  • Work proactively across the university, particularly with the School's Careers & Employability, Student Experience and Marketing teams to ensure that alumni and stakeholder engagement is maximised.
  • Gather alumni insight and data through delivery and evaluation of the KBS Alumni Survey, pulse survey and focus groups.
  • Development of a new alumni mentoring/careers coaching programme designed to support young alumni career development and volunteering opportunities for senior alumni mentors.
  • Lead work with the Fundraising and Supporter Development Data Team to enable consistent and effective analysis of faculty alumni engagement of target countries, programme specific and industries.
  • Work with the King's Business School Comms and Alumni Comms Teams to develop bespoke communication plans for King's Business School alumni and strengthen regular communication and social media activities.
  • Review and update content of KBS alumni website and digital channels (King's Connect).
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration across External Engagement and Alumni Relations Team, ensuring KBS alumni involvement in crossteam activities such as alumni mentoring programme, graduations, and international engagement.
  • Keep informed of industry trends and best practice to help inform the development of the alumni and stakeholder engagement programme and activities.
