System Administrator/Programmer

Reporting to:
Director of Information Systems

Our client is a global technology group with headquarters in New York, 16 offices worldwide, circa 500 employees. This role is in the International Video Collaboration Division based in Slough in the UK.

For over 15 years the highly experiencedteam have been working on pioneering projects across the globe for a variety of corporate, educational and government clients.

Our client strives to deliver outstanding customer service whilst building long-term relationships.

In the UK, the group has ambitiousgrowth plans and has recently opened a UK headquarters in Slough, alongside a second office in Brighton.

Key responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, you will be responsible for:

Provide day-to-day administration of Linux systems in a worldwide environment, both on[1]premise and Cloud.
Provide 2nd line and backup support for Linux and Windows Servers and other associated IT hardware
Manage and develop infrastructure solutions on the major Cloud environments.
Create and manage automation scripts to maintain and manage the various environments.
Support of end users may be required
Be responsive 24/7 to outages within this environment.
Carry out regular updates to Linux and Windows Systems
Maintain and manage service and equipment inventory databases
Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required skills and experience:

At least 5 years' experience in Linux Systems Administration in a highly available environment in a Debian or Debian variant environment.
IP Networking skills including but not limited to switching, firewalls, and routing basics. Facility with network tools is required (tcpdurnp, Wireshark)
Scripting capabilities (sh, bash, Python, Perl)
Configuration of common services

Examples:
DNS, Apache, NGINX, Postfix, Squid, SSH, iptables.
