Purpose of the role:


Underpinning the Firm's success is a Technology Services department who ensure their staff are sufficiently supported and equipped to carry out their roles to an optimum using the latest Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies and software.

This also involves a highly competent and dynamic Digital Skills Team consisting of 7 Digital Skills Coaches based in the UK offices.

As the firm derives increasing value from technology and moves towards a digital by default environment, our Digital Skills Team are committed to keep up with the pace of change by identifying new and innovative ways to improve user skills and the learning experience, boost adoption and drive business value.


The Digital Skills Team have spearheaded the introduction of a learning platform to meet the training needs for our people (eg to include digital technologies, legal or other work-related skills).

Through the utilisation of a Learning Management System, our vision is that the firm will have a single point of access for all their learning needs and that the Digital Skills Team are able to offer a more blended approach to learning, enabling the business to self-serve with more on-demand digital content, while working directly with the Digital Skills Coaches to learn other digital skills of high value.


We are therefore looking for an energetic, engaging and established Digital Skills Coach to assist our team in designing and delivering both instructor-led training and on-demand digital content.

Previous experience in delivering live training and a proven track record in designing on-demand courses and creating digital content (to include video and interactive eLearning) is essential for the role.


  • Experience of delivering instructor led, handson training and presentations to large audiences; both in person and remotely.
  • Experience and a proven track record in design and content creation such as training videos and interactive eLearning using video and eLearning creation tools (eg Camtasia or similar; Articulate Storyline and Rise or similar).
  • Experience within a corporate or legal environment IT training team where a document management system has been implemented would be essential.
  • Desirable: Hold an appropriate trainer qualification or be working towards one eg CIPD, MCT, TAP
  • Desirable: Microsoft Office Specialist certification.
  • Experience in upskilling staff in an evergreen environment of fast paced change to include upskilling teams on:
  • MS Windows 10 & 11;
  • M365 suite and associated apps to an advanced level;
  • Document Management System (ideally iManage);
  • Practice Management System (ideally Aderant Expert);
  • Remote and mobile working including using iPhones, tablet devices and VPN;
  • Meeting room audio visual/video conferencing technologies; and
  • Cloud and SaaS based technologies.

  • Engaging and authentic training style with ability to understand workplace requirements.
  • An understanding of the training lifecycle and people's learning styles.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to produce innovative ideas to benefit the wider team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to distil the workings of complex technology systems into understandable processes for customers to follow.
  • Ability to work under own initiative, and to work under pressure to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Technically astute with ability to understand the underlying infrastructure and how systems are configured.
