Purpose of Role:


We're looking for a very hands-on and proactive Purchasing Assistant who is flexible, adaptable and able to use their own initiative as part of the Merchandising and Buying team.


Whilst this is an administrative role, in such a small team, it is one with responsibility and autonomy - and accuracy is paramount.

This is a Supplier Facing Role - so requires professional and timely communication.


Our objective is to ensure the timely and accurate launch of products online and to replenish products as quickly as possible.

In this role you will provide administration support for the Merchandising and Buying team.

You will take responsibility for raising New and Replenishment Purchase Orders, Updating and Maintaining the Delivery Schedule and working closely with our Shipping and Supply Chain Team.


As part of a small team, you will also be required to support and cover the other members of the Purchasing Team where required.

This role crosses and supports buying and merchandising and reports into the Merchandising Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience within a retail head office environment.


Responsibilities

Co-ordination of the intake of product from 300 brands across 13,000 skus in conjunction with Senior Merchandising Assistant and the Logistics Department

  • Accurate input of order data into PO system.
  • Sending POs to brands.
  • Amending POs in line with brand product availability updates and additionally pricing updates where needed
  • Maintaining and updating the delivery schedule daily with current progress of POs
  • Managing critical path of all PO's ensuring brands are on board to meet critical dates.
  • Liaising closely with the Logistics and Inbound teams regarding priorities.
  • Communicating key delivery information/ shortfalls to the B&M team.
  • Preparing daily sales report for management team.
  • Supporting other roles with Admin team when needed.

Skills Required:


  • Be proactive and hands on. This is a small but fastgrowing company the role will vary from day to day and you have to have a 'can do' approach,
  • Online retailing is a fastpaced working environment so possessing the ability to prioritise and reprioritise will be the key to success in this role
  • Have a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be very organised
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as work autonomously
  • Proactive approach to managing own workload
  • Uses initiative to solve problems

Experience required:


  • Experience in a similar role purchasing or supply chain
  • An excellent communicator both internally and externally
  • Previous experience in a highly detailed administration role
  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook

Desirable but not essential:


  • Retail experience in a Head Office role
  • Beauty category experience/ knowledge
  • Experience of a Retail Purchasing System
  • Experience of working in an Ecommerce environment
