PURPOSE OF ROLE:


As a Transfer Controls Officer you will be responsible for the effective processing of settlement and reconciliation tasks within the Transfers department.


Working as part of a team, your role will be to process a series of daily settlement and exception reports, updating client portfolios with assets that have settled with ii's international and fund custodians as part of the transfer process.

You will be identifying and investigating unmatched CREST transfers and failed free of payment stock movements.

Regulatory reporting on behalf of the Transfers department of reconciliation breaks, including the reporting of daily client money segregation, in order to ensure ii is able to meet CASS reporting requirements.

You will also be completing movements of stock between portfolios, internal custody accounts and cross border market movements.


These activities enable the speedy and efficient processing of transferring customer accounts into and out of Interactive Investor, supporting key customers and stakeholders internally and externally.

These accounts may relate to products across ii, including but not limited to SIPP, ISA, JISA and Trading Accounts.


As a financially regulated company, it is important our colleagues ensure there is accurate adherence to the departments policies, procedures, and regulatory responsibilities.

This role will include building good relationships with Customers, internal departments and external stakeholders whilst enabling you to have the opportunity to develop your career within a market leading company.


Requirements:


KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Processing of daily settlement reports for Transfers and subsequently adding or removing funds and international stock to/from client portfolios
  • Running daily Crest checking report and investigating unmatched free of payment Crest transactions
  • Identifying and investing reconciliation breaks, resolving where possible and ensuring reporting is completed where resolution is not achievable
  • Identifying and reporting of daily client money requirements in order for prudent segregation to be completed and CASS requirements met
  • Completing internal portfolio and custody account movements of stock where necessitated due to changes in the tax status of a holding or a client
  • Processing cross border market movements of stock and fund conversions where required as a result of transfers and as requested by other operational departments within ii
  • Report to Month End Committee on all unresolved Transfer exceptions within scope for additional reporting due to age, complexity or value
  • Ad hoc participation in the support of audits, including annual CASS audits
  • Identifying breaches of regulation and ii policy requirements, raising them via the appropriate risk framework channels within the mandatory timeframe
  • Support transfer case handlers and internal parties with technical settlement and reconciliation knowledge, to provide outstanding service to our customers
  • Review and challenge policy, processes and procedures, recommending improvements to increase efficiency and improve quality
  • Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and engaging in a positive working culture and environment
  • Be adaptable to change, with the ability to move between tasks as business needs require, working on wider departmental activity as and when the need arises
