Become a champion of quality for our customers as a Quality Development Engineer. Take a pivotal role in upholding the excellence of our premium products by leading all quality-related efforts across assigned New Product Development (NPD) projects.

This key position within the QA NPD team is responsible for planning, oversight and reporting of test plans covering product validation, reliability testing and environmental testing, as well as hands on electrical, mechanical and cosmetic inspections during the NPD milestone process.

As a champion of quality, you'll help guarantee that our products meet the highest standards from concept to launch. This role also offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments and international locations, including our warehouse operations in China.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Represent Quality Department Represent the quality department within the cross functional project team on New Product Development projects and take a lead role in product validation on Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) / Joint Design Manufacturer (JDM) projects.
• Manage Product Validation Manage and conduct product validation and testing including performance, environmental, functionality, reliability and cosmetic evaluations and approval in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.
• Participate in Design Reviews Participate in design reviews to assure products will be reliable, cost effective and manufacturable, while focusing on preventative quality measures and process controls and improvements.
• Lead DFMEA Activity Lead and coordinate the Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA) activity.
• Determine Testing Requirements Assist Engineering in determining testing requirements and equipment needed for supplier and Masimo Consumer inspections such as gauging, audio testing, visual standards and written specifications.
• Review Drawings Reviews and approves mechanical/electrical/artwork drawings, checking for critical dimensions, appropriate design and tolerancing, as well as accuracy and completeness.
• Create Supplier Quality Plans Prepares specific supplier quality plans, test & inspection plans and cosmetic specifications.
• Investigate Quality-Related Problems Assists in identification and investigation of quality-related problems, error causes, and effective corrective actions with suppliers.
• Attend Project Meetings Attends weekly project meetings and other meetings as required.
• Safety Compliance Conduct duties in a safe manner in compliance with company and statutory H&S requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant Experience At least 3 years of experience in a relevant test / diagnostic role.
• Multitasking Ability Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently on multiple projects.
• Problem Solving Demonstrate problem solving in response to unforeseen events and or test failures.
• Technical Communication Effectively communicate technical findings and concepts to a range of audiences in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Analyzing Electronic Circuits Proficient in the analysis of electronic circuits to component level.
• Reading Electronic Drawings Proficient in reading electronic drawings / system architecture / block diagrams.
• Using Electronic Test Equipment Proficient in use of electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, frequency analysers.
• Content Collaboration Tools Working knowledge of content collaboration tools such as Confluence.
• Issue Management Platform Working knowledge of an issue management platform such as JIRA.
