Overview:
Do you have strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload and want to help develop a school Governing Board alongside the Chair and Headteacher? As the Clerk to the Governing Board you will be self-employed and support 13 agreed meetings per year as well as an ad-hoc meetings as required.
You will be available on Wednesday evenings for the actual meetings plus ad-hoc day or evening work for the preparation and follow up.
You will be paid £250 per meeting (inc attendance and prep time) and be available to start asap.Term time only:

About the role:
The duties of a Trust Clerk include:
- Providing advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, in line with the Trust's guidance and procedures.
- Providing advice and guidance on board composition, function and best practice execution.
- Understanding key national education policies and the local education context in which the board is operating as well as know the board's duties under legislation and statutory guidance
- Providing effective administrative support to the governing body, e.g. preparing agendas, taking minutes, circulating papers, etc.
- Ensuring the governing body is properly constituted.
- Providing support and clerking for any extraordinary meetings and PX/grievances
About you:
We are looking for a person who:
- Has strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload and is happy to work and develop the Governing Board alongside the Chair and HT
- The ability to work on your own initiative as well as a mature and committed approach is essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Has excellent IT skills.
- Can work at times convenient to the governing body, (Wednesday evening work for the actual meetings, adhoc day or evening work for the preparation and follow up).
You will be required to support the 13 agreed meetings per year as well as an adhoc meetings as required.
