We are looking to recruit an
Collections Storage Coordinator to join our team based at our Stafford site.

You will join us on a
full time, 18 month fixed term contract and in return, you will receive a
competitive salary of
£26,000 per annum.

Purpose of the Collections Storage Coordinator role is to:

  • To co-ordinate and administer the day-to-day operation of the Museum's Stafford storage facility, enabling the Collections Storage Manager to focus on the development, delivery and project management of the collection relocation project.
  • To supervise the daily operations of the Stafford storage facility including the supervision of contractors, liaison with other departments (notably the Estates team), recruitment and supervision of volunteers.

Key responsibilities of our Collections Storage Coordinator include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Stafford storage facility as required by the Collections Storage Manager
  • Supporting the role development and recruitment of volunteers
  • Coordination of all tasks relating to the dayto day running of the storage facility
  • Coordination of all tasks relating to the storage of objects at Stafford and supporting the collection relocation team in meeting project requirements for the preparation of objects for relocation and specifications for the new Collections Hub at our Midlands site
  • Attendance at relevant meetings to coordinate activities and clarify expectations and responsibilities between stakeholders
  • Effective and timely reporting on progress, risks and issues on allocated areas of responsibility

What we are looking for in our Collections Storage Coordinator:

  • Practical experience of museum documentation and collections management
  • Experience in the use of Collections Management systems, including Collections Management databases and literate in Microsoft packages
  • Experience handling a wide variety of object types and in moving, packing and transporting museum objects
  • Knowledge and experience in the logistics of transporting museum objects
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience of managing volunteers
  • Holds a current driving licence and have a willingness to drive hire vehicles to support Museum activities
  • Project management qualification
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and the processes necessary to manage them within a heritage setting
