We work with a wide range of clients to manage their property portfolios, projects and transactions and due to our continuing success; Ridge and Partners are now looking for a talented Building Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary consultancy office in Bristol.

As a Building Surveyor at Ridge you will benefit from on-the-job learning experiences whilst working on prestigious projects including large residential, industrial, commercial and Educational schemes with contract values of over £30 million.

You will need to demonstrate the desire, drive and a real enthusiasm to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor which will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge APC support process) and the local Building Surveying Team.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Client management and contract administration/practice duties
  • Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of residential, commercial properties and academic
  • Carry out building/condition surveys
  • Ensure buildings conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards
  • Taking particulars on site, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes and administering contracts for maintenance work
  • Inspect, analyse and report on building defects
  • Prepare schedules of dilapidations (land and buildings)
  • Supervision of building work on site

Experience and Skills Required:


  • Building Surveying degree/diploma
  • MRICS Chartered desirable
  • You will be of an analytical mind with a high level of intellect combining excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust reports and recommendations. You will need to demonstrate the capability of eventually managing individual team members with picking up and organising their project work and where necessary, assisting them on projects.
