Your Responsibilities:
what youll do We are looking for a dynamic Physiotherapist to assist with strategic development our CF service.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop clinical and managerial skills within this speciality and oversee the development of others.

This post holder, along with existing staff, will be based within Southampton General Hospital, however, will also be required to work off site undertaking admission prevention, individual support within patients homes, or nearer a patients geographical locality.

Please ensure you will be able to undertake this community aspect of the work, travelling to and from patient homes, other hospitals, and community sites as part of this role, as well as transporting and fitting large pieces of equipment.


The successful applicant should have relevant postgraduate respiratory/Cystic Fibrosis clinical experience with a desire to develop their knowledge and skills in the care of Cystic Fibrosis patients with a wide range of pathologies.

This role involves working closely with our regional multi-professional Cystic Fibrosis (CF) team and is supported by a Clinical Specialist in Cystic Fibrosis.

Your clinical remit would involve the treatment of both acute inpatients and outpatients, attending our multi-professional Cystic fibrosis clinics, and working in the community.

Attendance at regional meetings may also be required.

What were looking for:

The post holder will be expected to lead the therapy team in the absence of the Band 8/7s, be involved in the teaching programme, service development, student supervision and the development of Band 3-5 therapy staff.

All staff are expected to work flexibly to support a 7-day service.

The post holder will be expected to engage in research as appropriate, as well as regular clinical audits, and maintain up to date skills and knowledge in order to implement evidence-based practice.
