Main Job Purpose:


To support the Service Manager to devise systems and implement high standard of record keeping, to provide robust reports on Care First's high standards of service delivery.

To empower and support teams to deliver the best and consistent practice across the services.

To empower teams to deliver on Care First Services' values and ethos creatively.


To lead teams on delivering best outcomes for Care First young people in line with appropriate regulations, duty of care and all other stakeholder's expectations including LA contracts.


To support, develop and enable young people who have a range of diverse needs by assisting them to live semi-independently within a supported unit living environment as respected members of their local community, empowering, and engaging young people to pursue their individual goals and aspirations.


Care First Services mission is to support, develop and enable young people who have a range of diverse needs by assisting them to live semi-independently as respected members of their local community.


In addition, we work in partnership with other local external agencies to provide a range of innovative, creative, and specialised support packages.

This is achieved through delivering a competent Independent Living Skills Assessment (ILSA) which aims to promote independence, health, choice self-awareness, and self-confidence.

As far as possible, Care First Services will support the young person in accessing activities, they have an interest in to enable and promote the development of life skills.


The Team Leader plays a pivotal role in the promotion of safe practices along with independent and life skills for young people.

Team Leaders are directly responsible for ensuring day to day tasks are completed timely, effectively, and purposefully with additional input from Support Workers as required.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will assist the Service Manager in the operational day to day management of the service.
  • Lead the team in a flexible, responsive service which operates in a timely and personcentered manner.
  • You will guide, motivate and encourage your team to provide a quality service in line with Care First Services Values, policies and practices in a personcentered manner, ensuring all quality standards and regulations are met, consistently.
  • Provide day to day supervision of the team, including carrying out formal supervisions, appraisals, team meetings, and performance and absence management, including recruitment.
  • Supervise the team performances against contract stipulations and other key performance indicators, meeting all regulatory standards for allocated services and updating quality and performance toolkits
  • Provide regular internal and external reports on young people and service activities (including social work reports and KPIs)
  • You will manage the HR system for all direct reports.
  • You will be able to prioritise workload, manage your own time and meet deadlines.
  • Shifts work may be included: Monday to Friday. Weekends may be included for oncall purposes, oncall alternate in accordance with management ratios.
  • Additional shift cover may be required to suit the need of the service
  • To ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of young people in line with safeguarding regulations
  • Play an active role in the on call, out of hours and safeguarding rotas as and when required
  • Manage key working caseloads needs, care planning, risk assessments and reviews
  • To complete internal quality audits including spot checks, service audits and ensure compliance with expected standards and legislation. Feeding back findings to Service Manager and agree actions to be completed
  • Lead the health and safety within areas of responsibility
  • Complete risk assessments and act on any identified risks
  • Effective record keeping using the organisations ICT systems and records
  • Ensure that the service is fully compliant with the organisations policies and procedures
  • Take personal ownership of work and actions
  • To support and coordinate the needs of young people to live semiindependently in supported accommodation that provides 24hour cover.
  • To act as a key worker for nominated young people.
  • To support, advice and guide Support Workers within the unit
  • To act as a role model for good practice
  • To assist in the induction programme for new starters
  • To work closely with outreach support workers attached to the unit as directed by Service Management.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of an appropriate, individualised, and achievable Support Plan/Independent Living Skills Assessment (ILSA) with collaboration from external agencies
  • To ensure the safety and wellbein
