There is an exciting opportunity for a Clerical / Research Assistant, (job sharing will be considered).
The Liverpool Emergency Department Research Unit Strategy Team (LEDRUS) are looking for emergency medicine staff for an exciting new opportunity in hybrid emergency medicine and research roles.
Or are you looking to start out your career in research? We have a variety of roles available at all levels at both Aintree and the Royal sites.
- To continue to support the Emergency Department in your current role but flexing your time between Emergency Medicine and Research
- To support an appointed Emergency Medicine Research lead at your site in increasing and recruiting the number of patients participating in clinical trials
- To contribute to the assessment and management of the care pathways for patients participating in clinical trials
- To provide guidance, support, and answer queries for research participants
- Develop a research portfolio through active engagement in courses, internal work experience and other training opportunities
- Develop departmental engagement with research activities and encourage relationships with other departments, NHS Trusts and research institutions.
We are looking for enthusiastic team members with a passion for both clinical work and research that will continue to develop themselves and others to foster a positive research environment within the specialty.
The Clerical / Research Assistant will be expected to perform a variety of clinical and clerical research duties within a research environment.
This will include clinical tasks such as venepuncture, vital signs, collection, processing (including centrifugation, freezing, handling of dry ice) and shipping of biological specimens according to protocol requirements.
The clerical duties will involve collection of patient data from medical notes, completion of case report forms (CRF's), data inputting and providing general admin support.
The Trust has 4 sites, Aintree, the Royal, Broadgreen and the Dental hospital.This post will primarily work on the Aintree site.
