Our Junior School, for pupils aged 2–11, offers a warm and nurturing environment where learning is active, creative and deeply connected to the world around us.
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Forest School Leader to join our team and develop outdoor learning experiences for children aged 2–11, with a particular focus on our youngest pupils in the Early Years. You will lead engaging Forest School sessions that encourage curiosity, resilience, and respect for nature. Working closely with class teachers, you will help children explore, question, and learn through play and discovery in our beautiful grounds and local woodland sites.
The Role

· Foster a safe, inclusive, and adventurous outdoor learning environment.
· Plan and deliver sessions that reflect the Forest School ethos—child-led, hands-on, and nature-based.
· Support children's wellbeing, confidence, and personal growth through outdoor exploration.
· Maintain equipment, ensure safety standards, and complete relevant risk assessments.
· Work collaboratively with teaching staff to enhance the outdoor curriculum.
· Participate in occasional residentials and outdoor learning events.
Essential Requirements
· Forest School Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
· Recent experience delivering Forest School or outdoor learning with Early Years and/or Primary-aged children.
· Current First Aid Certificate.
· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to off-site woodland areas.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Enthusiasm for learning outdoors in all weathers
Desirable
· Additional outdoor or environmental education qualifications.
· Relevant childcare or teaching qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Early Years Educator, QTS).
· Experience working with children with SEND.
· D1 minibus driving qualification
Personal Qualities
· A reflective, flexible practitioner who models curiosity and care.
· Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
· Passionate about sustainability, wellbeing, and outdoor education.
· Positive, proactive and able to inspire others to love learning outdoors.
