We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team at our site in
Thatcham,
Berkshire.


Working 37.5 hours per week,
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, however, we can be flexible to accommodate an earlier or later start.


Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage customer projects, developing methods, tools, and processes to manage customer programs from NPI to delivery.

You will be joining 3T AM at one of the most exciting times in our 26-year history, with an increasing demand from our customers looking for a quicker and cost-effective way of producing metal components.

38 employees, we might be small, but we have BIG growth plans and looking to almost double our size in the next few years.


What is Metal Additive Manufacturing?


Additive Manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is the process of using advanced technology to deposit thin layers of metal powder combined with thermal lasers to selectively consolidate the material into a solid.

This creates parts/components that canbe more complex in design and lighter in weight than the traditional subtractive technologies, where material is removed or shaped.


Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Determine the most effective and economical method of manufacture whilst meeting drawing requirements
  • Expertly solve related production and quality issues
  • Compilation of process planning for a defined project. Where required, working in conjunction with the local process engineers and material engineers
  • Assist/advise on the introduction of new products, and/or modifications to existing products and processes
  • Provide support for the introduction of new facilities and equipment
  • Assist and advise on the implementation and reporting of key projects and/or continuous improvement programmes, within a defined area
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including suppliers, consultants and controlling authorities within guidelines set by departments e.g. Commercial or Engineering
  • Identify continuous improvements throughout all departments and communicate to customers and internal stakeholders on WIP progress.

You will need:


  • Manufacturing/Mechanical/Project Engineering experience
  • Knowledge of hard metal finishing/machining
  • To be able to work with cross functional teams, typically this will include operations, design engineering, commercial, procurement, quality, and suppliers
