Fairfields Care Centre is looking for a Maintenance Person to join our team in Cookstown.

You will be joining a team that is fully committed to making a difference to the lives of those we provide care for.

In partnership with our Home Manager, your role will be to maintain our Home and grounds, ensuring all areas are free from hazards and all equipment and systems are safe and in full working order.

As a valued team member you will carry out skilled DIY and general maintenance work involved in all aspects of Fairfields Care Centre maintenance both internal and external.

The role includes general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting and decorating.

This also includes regular checks and assessments of both private & public areas, liaising with management, domestic & care staff and performing jobs as/when required (a full job description is available on request).

The role will be Monday - Thursday from 9am to 4:30pm. Friday 9am - 3:30pm. Salary negotiable - to be discussed.

Essential requirements

General maintenance knowledge/experience e.g. minor electrical, plumbing, joinery
Requisite knowledge of tools, equipment and materials common to your role.
Clean driving licence and access to transport
Satisfactory Access NI Check

Desirable

Understanding of central heating systems, laundry equipment and hot & cold water systems.
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
Previous experience of working in a care environment.
