BRIEF DESCRIPTION
We are recruiting for a HR Officer to join our team in Lisburn. This is an exciting, generalist role, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Reporting to the HR Manager and in conjunction with the wider HR Team, the HR Officer is responsible for managing and developing the operational areas of Absence Management, Employee Relations, Recruitment and Performance Management.


Working hours:
Monday - Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours per week)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing short term absence throughout the business in line with the Absence Management policy, managing trigger absence reports and supporting Managers with associated attendance disciplinary action.
  • Case management of all longterm absence e.g., home visits, liaising with occupational health and supporting return to work plans with the Manager.
  • Working to reduce absenteeism by highlighting trends in absenteeism across departments, shifts etc, train and develop Supervisors to improve quality of absence documentation.
  • Provide line manager with regular updates on progress to ensure absence is being managed in line with departmental and company objectives.
  • Provide support to the Operations team to manage performance and target related disciplinary action.
  • Carry out disciplinary investigations, hearings, appeals and grievances, seeking guidance from the Senior HR Officer on more complex issues.
  • Provide guidance to Managers and Supervisors on a wide range of employment / legislative matters.
  • Management of recruitment process for internal, support and administration positions.
  • Manage contractual documentation, liaising with relevant parties to ensure onboarding process is managed.
  • Control of Performance Management documentation and proactively work with Managers to ensure performance related issues are being managed and reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Management of Flexible Working process, providing support and guidance to Managers on legislative requirements.
  • Weekly / monthly reporting, updating HR systems and compilation of statistical information as required.
  • Update contractual documentation, policies and procedures as required by the HR Manager / Senior HR Officer and in line with legislative developments.
  • Lead and manage various HR projects as directed by line manager and in line with HR objectives.
  • Management of internal benefits schemes
  • Flexible to travel to other sites as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
