Description
Start People are recruiting for our client in Peterlee for an experienced Warehouse / Stock Controller.

You will need to have an in date FLT Counter Balance License and driving license as you may be working between sites.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7am to 4pm and a Friday 7am to 11am.

Weekly pay on a temporary to permanent role, lovely working environment.


The role of the stock controller is to oversee the purchase and replenishment of goods to ensure maintenance of stock levels.

The role involves checking the quality of goods on arrival to the site, maintaining accurate record of inventory, stock and consumables in the system according to set company procedures and standards across two facilities.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Receiving all deliveries against delivery notes, ensure correct qualities and check for damage.

Book all items onto the system.

Liaise with operations staff and internal teams to control stock levels in line with planning.

Ensure all picked stock is recorded throughout the sites in line with company procedures.


Assist in the unloading of vehicles for incoming deliveries and store items in designated areas as per health and safety guidelines.

Maintaining effective stock levels across all purchasable items (Kanban's).

Recording and encouraging the use of valuable offcuts.

Controlling all products and consumables with a shelf life, batch identification or a need to rotate stock.

Ensure visual management principals are embedded throughout using lean principals.


Perform full stock checks monthly on two site, also visit suppliers when dealing with vested projects to book all metal in as required.

Produce reports for management when required including work in progress (WIP).

General housekeeping within stores.

Accurately and legibly complete all necessary paperwork.

Ensure a Safe Working environment is always maintained.

Work alongside and under the direction of (QHSE) team.


Qualifications and Competencies
Must have previous experience in a similar role

Good computer skills are required, in particular, Microsoft packages including office, excel

and preferably Microsoft Dynamics / Business central.

It is essential to have a driving license and forklift license and within this role

Must be at a level to achieve all tasks safely without supervision and in line with KPI's.
