Duties

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join the Global Network & Infrastructure Team based in Bradford.

We are looking for a Network Specialist to provide operational support across the global network estate along with the ability to produce designs for ongoing network improvement projects and related technology projects.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Plan and design networks by taking into consideration factors like, bandwidth requirements, infrastructure requirements, geographical constraints, and security.
Understand the data, voice and video requirements and come up with best solutions.
Design, setup and implement new networks; integrate networks in mergers and acquisitions
Optimise the existing network by undertaking projects for upgrades of network hardware, software and WAN/Internet links as needed.
Ability to implement and support LAN using facilities such as advanced spanning tree, Etherchannel, and trunking techniques, VLAN and IP addressing designs.
Secure the existing operational networks by being abreast with latest vulnerabilities and implementing suitable mitigations
Monitor important parameters around the network like utilization, latency, uptime etc.
Perform maintenance whilst minimizing disruptions to business.
Document information specific to networks including network drawings, descriptions, and configurations.
Research new technologies and staying up to date with the latest in the field

Qualifications and Skills

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Routing, switching, load balancing, LANs, WANs
Enterprisewide Wireless deployment and maintenance.
Security mitigations at network level including firewalls, logging, monitoring etc.

We Are Looking For

Ability to plan, design and execute network refresh rollout on a global scale.
Upgrades and implementation of network projects leading to higher bandwidths, and better network experience for customers and employees both whilst working onpremises or remotely.
Lower the number of network outages; conversely higher network uptime.
Availability of accurate network metrics resulting in better decisionmaking around strategic areas to invest in IT.
Compliance with various IT industry standards in keeping networks secured and optimized
Experience configuring & troubleshooting network monitoring & optimization solutions such as Solarwinds.
Able to demonstrate detailed implementation of networking concepts.
Extensive experience in BGP, MPLS, ACLs, VLANs, Cisco router and switch configurations.
