Skills and Workforce Coordinator Role Profile


The key purpose of this new role is to establish, lead and manage activities in order to significantly increase workforce skills and improve recruitment and retention to meet the local skills needs of the city's employers and growth sectors.


Working with those furthest from the labour market, including socially excluded people, and people looking for new careers using a skills brokerage model, the Coordinator will connect individuals with employers and education/training providers to improve employability and progression into employment in Plymouth's key sectors.


This role will have a specific focus on retaining and attracting new talent for the city's high value technical sectors including collaborating with the key institutions who work with the talent pool of graduates and military service leavers i.e.

the further education and higher education institutions, local Armed Forces resettlement services, and connecting these individuals with employers offering high-level career opportunities.
